StandGuard Anti-Virus version 7.2 runs faster and detects threats in more types of files, providing even greater virus protection
HelpSystems, a leading provider of systems and network management, business intelligence, and security and compliance solutions, today announced the release of a new version of its StandGuard Anti-Virus software. Version 7.2 features performance optimizations for initialization and scanning, as well as improved threat detection.
StandGuard Anti-Virus offers the power and protection of McAfee’s industry-leading scan engine. This update includes recent enhancements to the scan engine, making StandGuard Anti-Virus faster than ever and enabling it to dig deeper into a wider range of files where viruses can hide. These include compressed files, such as the newer versions of ASPack, AutoIt, and MSI.
“A scanning engine is central to anti-virus software. It needs to be updated often to deploy new advances in technology and to provide the maximum amount of protection against threats,” says Heather Beck, Product Support Manager, HelpSystems. “StandGuard Anti-Virus 7.2 includes the McAfee 5700 Anti-Malware Engine, which allows its users to stay one step ahead of the cybercriminals.”
These updated features are designed to provide users with state-of-the-art protection from viruses and malicious code on IBM i, AIX, and Linux.
Customers already using StandGuard Anti-Virus can upgrade to this latest version to access the new virus protection features. HelpSystems offers a free, 30-day trial of StandGuard Anti-Virus, which includes full product access and free support.
