Latest version is bidirectional and supports a forward proxy solution that protects the identity of internal systems initiating file transfers.
Linoma Software has announced the release of GoAnywhere Gateway V1.1, a bidirectional proxy solution that safeguards customer networks when exchanging data with external systems. GoAnywhere Gateway is a software-only solution that is typically installed in a customer’s "demilitarized zone (DMZ)" or public-facing network.
This latest release includes a forward proxy feature that protects the identity of internal systems that are initiating file transfers from the customer’s private network. Instead of making connections directly to external trading partners, the internal systems will route any requests through the forward proxy in GoAnywhere Gateway. Therefore, only the public address of GoAnywhere Gateway is revealed to the external systems. FTP, FTPS, SFTP and SCP transfer protocols are supported for exchanging files through this forward proxy feature.
GoAnywhere Gateway also serves as a reverse proxy, allowing trading partners to safely connect to the organization’s file sharing services including FTP, FTPS, SFTP, HTTPS and AS2 servers. The reverse proxy in GoAnywhere Gateway is distinctive because no inbound ports need to be opened into the internal/private network. Additionally, any sensitive data including files, user credentials, permissions, certificates and keys can be stored in the organization’s “more secured” internal network and kept out of the DMZ.
With GoAnywhere Gateway 1.1, passive and active data connections for FTP and FTPS are also routed through the reverse proxy. This feature now covers all channels needed for FTP/s file exchange.
GoAnywhere Gateway works with GoAnywhere Director and GoAnywhere Services to provide an enterprise-level solution for secure and managed file transfer, allowing customers to more readily comply with HIPAA, PCI DSS, SOX, GLBA and state privacy laws.
“One of our customers underwent a PCI audit that recommended they close all inbound ports into their internal network,” said Bob Luebbe, chief architect at Linoma. ”But the customer still needed their trading partners to be able to connect to an SFTP service for downloading files.”
“With the implementation of GoAnywhere Gateway and GoAnywhere Services,” Luebbe explained, “this customer was able to meet the PCI audit requirements while keeping the sensitive trading partner files in their internal network.”
GoAnywhere Gateway can be installed on most operating systems including Windows, Linux, UNIX, AIX and Solaris. Pricing for GoAnywhere Gateway starts at $2,995.
