IBM Security Access Manager Appliance is updated to include the IBM Security Directory Suite Standard Edition component.

The IBM® Security Access Manager Appliance is updated to include the Standard Edition component from IBM Security Directory Suite. Clients who purchase IBM Security Access Manager hardware appliances may now purchase IBM Security Directory Suite Standard Edition by using the Virtual Server charge metric.

Note: The Security Directory Suite Standard Edition is a virtual appliance that requires its own hardware. It does not run on the physical, Security Access Manager hardware appliance.

Security Directory Suite

Security Directory Suite can help provide a trusted, identity data infrastructure that can enable mission-critical security and authentication. It offers a reliable, scalable, standards-based, identity data platform. Directory Suite supports Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) V3. This offers a flexible, yet highly scalable, LDAP infrastructure. Directory Suite Standard Edition runs on a virtual appliance platform to accelerate deployment and simplify upgrades. For additional information on Security Directory Suite, refer to Software Announcement 215-451, dated November 3, 2015.

Security Access Manager

The Security Access Manager Appliance helps secure access points to web, mobile, and cloud applications and enforce context-based access policies that define who and what can access protected resources. Scalable and configurable, the solution is designed to provide a policy-based, user authentication and authorization system that helps defend against the latest, web-based security threats. For additional information on Security Access Manager, refer to Software Announcement 215-191, dated October 13, 2015.
