HelpSystems, a leading provider of systems and network management, business intelligence, and security solutions, today announced the release of Risk Assessor 2.5, a powerful IBM i security reporting tool. Risk Assessor helps customers automatically gather data on a broad range of security settings, giving them a comprehensive view of their vulnerabilities and comparing the settings against security best practices.

This new version follows the HelpSystems acquisition of SkyView in June 2015, which combined SkyView’s innovative managed security services and products with cutting-edge technology from HelpSystems to create an even greater value for customers.

Risk Assessor 2.5 includes new reports that help users examine IBM i security settings in greater detail and meet the latest Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) requirements. One new report provides visibility into user permissions that were previously difficult to investigate. This version makes it easier for IBM i organizations to report on row and column access control (RCAC), a powerful security control introduced last year by IBM.

The new version also adds a report that makes it easier to examine and remedy settings related to recently exposed vulnerabilities in SSL, a widely-used encryption protocol. This addition is very timely, as the most recent version of PCI DSS requires organizations to eliminate use of SSL.

“Security is a top priority for many CIOs, but it’s a target that’s constantly shifting. We delivered these new reports based on strong customer requirements that we stay current with the latest laws and regulations. Risk Assessor 2.5 makes it possible for organizations to respond to changing compliance requirements and leverage IBM i’s evolving security capablities,” said Carol Woodbury, Vice President of Global Security Services, HelpSystems.

Customers already using Risk Assessor can upgrade to this latest version to access the new reports. Visit www.skyviewpartners.com/risk-assessor for more information.
