In the spring of each year, I host what has become the most popular RPG IV developer event of the year, RPG World. In May 2007, RPG World returns to Las Vegas.
More good news: Unlike a lot of events, RPG World tries to introduce new and updated content each year. After all, how many times to do you need to attend an "RPG IV at V5Rx" session?
This time, we are mixing things up with some of the best talent in the iSeries industry. Programmers told us they want Web/CGI programming skills, so Bradley V. Stone, author of e-RPG: Building AS/400 Web applications with RPG and e-RPG(V2): e-Volving RPG Apps, has agreed to do an "RPG for the Web" workshop. Programmers also said they want to know how to use SQL effectively, so we brought in R. Bruce Hoffman, a top DB2 specialist, who has agreed to do classes on SQL, Embedded SQL, and database. We were also getting a lot of questions about the new stuff in CL. So Greg Veal, author of CL Programming for the AS/400, will be covering everything you need to know about CL, message handling, and exception/error management (in CL and RPG IV). He'll do a few RPG IV classes as well.
Of course, I'll be back. This time, I'll work with Brad on CGI/Web topics, along with Greg and Bruce on all things RPG IV (subprocedures, binding, prototyping, modules, service programs, etc.). So it should be the best RPG World ever.
As our special guest, Robert S. Tipton of R.S. Tipton, Inc. (and author of Untangling IT) is the featured keynote speaker. In addition to his keynote, Bob will speak on a number of topics that are important to every iSeries developer.
Last but certainly not least, George Farr, IBM System i Manager for Languages and Developer Tools (aka "Owner of the RPG IV Language at IBM"), has agreed to speak. George is a great guy and a popular speaker at RPG World.

Bob Cozzi is a programmer/consultant, writer/author, and software developer of the RPG xTools, a popular add-on subprocedure library for RPG IV. His book The Modern RPG Language has been the most widely used RPG programming book for nearly two decades. He, along with others, speaks at and runs the highly-popular RPG World conference for RPG programmers.
