For the last several years, Jon Paris, Susan Gantner, Paul Tuohy, and I have produced the popular RPG World conference. This year, it's scheduled for May 15 to 17, 2006, at the Orleans Hotel in Las Vegas.
This conference includes several new topics—including AJAX, PHP, V5R4 enhancements to RPG IV—as well as good old CL. In addition, George Farr of IBM Toronto will be there to discuss the current and future direction of RPG IV. George "owns" RPG IV in his role at IBM, so you don't want to miss this event.
A new feature at this conference is the introduction of RPG World Showcase, an exclusive expo featuring some of the most popular vendors in the iSeries marketplace. RPG World Showcase will be available during non-session hours, so attendees will have the opportunity to ask their software suppliers questions about products they already own or may want to recommend to their shop.
RPG World is relatively small compared to some of the big national events—attendance ranges from 150 to about 200—but it is big on content. RPG World is devoted to RPG-oriented topics that deal with application development for the iSeries, and it avoids the filler that you often see in a four- or five-day event, so you get the focused education that you need in just three days. Check out the agenda on the Web site.
If you have already registered for RPG World, we're looking forward to seeing you. If not and you want to attend, you have only a few days left to take advantage of the advanced-registration discount. Through a special arrangement, I can offer anyone who registers before May 1, 2006, a special discount. When registering, enter promotion code MCPRESS to receive a $100 discount off the registration fee.
Don't gamble on your career's future. Join Jon, Susan, Paul, and me at RPG World in Las Vegas next month.
