I've created what I call a "tally calculator," which gives an AS/400 user the
ability to tally a batch of numbers. Using the REXX language built into OS/400,
I was able to create the program (called a "procedure," in REXX terms) with
very little effort.
1 contains the source code. When you create the source member, specify
Figure 1 contains the source code. When you create the source member, specify
REXX as the source member type. No compiling is necessary since REXX interprets
the language statements as it executes.
To run the procedure, use the Start REXX Procedure (STRREXPRC) command and
specify the source file and library that contains the REXX source member. This
REXX procedure illustrates how useful the REXX language can be.
