uniPaaS is platform-independent and supports many deployment modes. It provides a simple and gradual migration path from client/server to Rich Internet Applications (RIA) and cloud-enabled Software as a Service (SaaS). It also provides native mobile clients that support the development and deployment of mobile applications. Developers can use uniPaaS' highly productive metadata-driven development environment, with its ready-made business application engine, to simplify code-writing and enhance their software offerings with a modern user interface. The uniPaaS deployment platform enables comprehensive .NET integration while supporting native deployment on all commonly used server platforms, including IBM i.

System Requirements

To run uniPaaS from a System i server, you must have the following:

  • A RISC machine (power PC) System i with OS/400 V5R3 or higher with the latest cumulative PTF package
  • An OS/400 Portable Application Solutions Environment (PASE)—IBM License program 5769SS1 Option 33 on the System i machine
  • A TCP/IP configuration for System i
  • uniPaaS for System i host library (Magic/400) as described in the uniPaaS System i client documentation
  • Permanent or evaluation license pak
  • uniPaaS for System i ISAM client
  • uniPaaS for System i SQL client
