XL C/C++ for Linux™ (on little endian distributions) and XL Fortran for Linux (on little endian distributions) are standards-based, high-performance compilers with advanced optimization and performance-tuning features. XL C/C++ for Linux, V13.1.4 (on little endian distributions) and XL Fortran for Linux, V15.1.4 (on little endian distributions) deliver the following features and enhancements:
- XL C/C++ offers a no-charge community edition for developer and partner use. The full XL C/C++ for Linux continues to be available.
- XL Fortran for Linux, V15.1.4 supports the CUDA Fortran programming model (subset of CUDA constructs) to exploit the NVIDIA GPU.
- XL C/C++ for Linux conforms to the C11 and C++11 standards.
- XL Fortran for Linux conforms to the Fortran 2003 standard and supports a number of features of the Fortran 2008 standard.
- XL C/C++ for Linux and XL Fortran for Linux conforms to OpenMP 3.1 while supporting some features of OpenMP 4.5 on the POWER® CPU host.
- XL C/C++ for Linux, V13.1.4 and XL Fortran for Linux, V15.1.4 deliver quality improvements over their earlier releases by including fixes in released PTFs.
