On April 11, a Webcast for System i developers interested in Service Oriented Architecture called "SOA Begins with Web Services" will help developers learn how applications are being redesigned and implemented according to SOA and what it means to the System i platform and its mission-critical applications.

Even organizations where SOA is not yet part of their immediate future can benefit from hearing what others are doing with Web services, organizers say. Implementing Web services first will add tremendous value now and seamlessly transition into future SOA plans. say organizers. Attendees may register to receive a free white paper discussing Service Oriented Architecture and the System i.

Sponsored by LANSA, the Webcase will feature speakers including Trevor Perry, technical director at KMR Systems and popular COMMON presenter, and David Brault, product marketing manager at LANSA. Perry is scheduled to provide an overview of SOA and address Web services implementation issues on the System i. Brault will focus on LANSA's latest integration technology that generates native System i Web services and provide examples of customer implementations.

LANSA recently was accepted into the IBM SOA Specialty program due to its technology framework that offers a wizard-based approach to Web service development and hides the complexities of the protocols to present a simplified interface to developers.
