“This version continues to build on the functionality of its predecessors” explains Chris Hird, president of Shield Advanced Solutions. “Taking the input from our customers we have tailored the new functionality to meet their demands, resulting in a product that is even simpler to use and manage. Using the latest ILE and service program build techniques has reduced the footprint and increased the performance of HA4i on your IBM i.

Technical

HA4i requires IBM i OS Version 6, release 1 and upwards and uses remote journaling for database replication. Object replication is triggered by the use of the Audit journal and advanced request filtering to ensure effective resource use.

All of the changes within this release have been made with simplicity in mind. Installation and management should be possible by regular skilled staff without the need of a specially certified consultant.

Licensing is IBM tier-based.
