Sherpa Software has announced that its Mail Attender for Lotus Notes software has been selected as a finalist in the Best Messaging and Collaboration Solution for the 2008 IBM Lotus Awards.

Submissions were chosen based on their ability to leverage IBM software that offers significant business value, creativity and uses the latest release of IBM Lotus Notes and  Domino 8 software. Nominations were submitted from five continents including over 30 countries.

Nominees in this category took advantage of new capabilities inherent in Domino 8 while increasing management capabilities over Domino 8. In addition to receiving the Best Messaging and Collaboration Solution Award, Sherpa Software was one of the first 36 worldwide IBM software partners to be validated as "Ready for Domino 8" by IBM in October.

IBM named Sherpa’s email management product, Mail Attender, as a key offering within its lineup. Mail Attender is a multi-faceted solution that allows organizations to manage corporate, legal and regulatory archiving and retention needs across the enterprise. It effectively archives documents and attachments, enforces policies, monitors content and manages storage requirements through automated, centralized management.

Customers worldwide have employed Mail Attender’s robust policies, flexible architecture, and superior technical support to address their storage and regulatory requirements. "It is always an honor to be among those who are chosen for one of the prestigious IBM Lotus Awards," says Jeff Tujetsch, Mail Attender product manager, Sherpa Software. "This year it is especially meaningfully since Mail Attender is celebrating its 10 year anniversary. This is a testament to the sustainability and inventiveness of our archiving, e-discovery, and retention product, and why it has been successful over all of these years."

Sherpa Software is a privately held company based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with a worldwide distribution channel. Sherpa designs and develops groupware utility software targeted to provide archiving, e-discovery, email management and policy enforcement functionality that is not inherent within IBM Lotus Notes or Microsoft Exchange. Products include: Mail Attender for Notes and Exchange, Discovery Attender for Notes and Exchange, Archive Attender for Exchange, File Attender for Notes and Database Attender for Notes.
