RJS Software Systems, Inc., a premier provider of content management software and services, announced major enhancements to its Microsoft Windows version of WebDocs, the company's award-winning document management software.

The software has been converted to .NET code and enhanced to include new "smart search," advanced key search, and full text search options. Converting WebDocs to .NET also allowed RJS to make improvements to the software's Web interface, optimize program performance, and improve integration with other applications.

"Now that .NET has matured and become a widely accepted Web development technology, we decided it was time to upgrade WebDocs," said Richard Schoen, RJS Software's president and chief technology officer. "With many of our System i WebDocs customers adding Windows and Linux applications into their environments, we wanted to make sure they had the option of staying on 'i' or running a more robust Windows version."

The .NET version of WebDocs gives users a cleaner, modernized user interface and a simplified, more intuitive application. The upgrade to .NET also means that customizing WebDocs to integrate into customers' ERP and other business systems is easier to do and can be accomplished much faster than previously possible.

Major Enhancements:

  • ASP.NET 2.0 codebase
  • New integrated search options including a "smart search", advanced key search and full-text search
  • Enhanced permissions interface
  • Performance optimizations
  • Cross-browser compliant
  • New interface and navigation
  • Better compatibility with Windows Server 2008 IIS 7
  • Streamlined installation and update options
