Quadrant Software, a leading software developer for paperless process management solutions for the System i (iSeries, AS/400) and Windows enterprises, has announced the release of version 4.7.4 of its FastFax software.

FastFax delivers the ability to send, receive, route, and manage mission-critical documents from within familiar business applications and/or email clients. Both user-friendly and absolutely secure, it provides centralized systems management to maximize IT support time while improving user productivity, the company says.

Release 4.7.4 of FastFax builds upon the solid foundation of the previous versions and adds more capabilities to help companies of all sizes process their documents more efficiently, the company says. Enhancements included in this release were driven by customer requirements and to address supported vendor product updates. The goal is to deliver a paperless solution that is focused on how companies manage their business processes.

Support for IBM i 6.1

FastFax now supports the new IBM operating system IBM i 6.1 for the System i and Power Systems.

Support for Domino 8

Quadrant Software's Domino Email Gateway now supports the newest version of Domino/Lotus Notes, which includes 64-bit Windows OS and Domino Cluster configuration, which allows configurations where the Domino server is in a different domain from the FastFax processor.

Easier Upgrade to the Latest MS Exchange

Email Gateway for Exchange 2007 now comes with an automated install and update tool making the upgrade to the newest versions an easier process. Customers that are planning on upgrading their Microsoft Exchange server will be able to upgrade their Email Gateway software with just the click of a button.

Greater Flexibility with Extractor Templates

Extractor is FastFax's tool for no-programming integration. With Extractor, users create templates to identify key fields in the spool file such as fax number, customer, or vendor name, email address, and more by simply mapping the spool data. FastFax monitors output queues and the selected spool files and once they are captured, FastFax transforms them into faxes and/or emails for automated distribution.

The new release of FastFax enhances the Extractor tool by allowing the use of wildcards when configuring spool files to be monitored thus making it easier to process multiple spool files. When setting up Extractor Templates, users can now configure each template to monitor up to 20 output queues, reducing the time it takes to set up the monitoring of output queues and making it easier to maintain.

Faster Recovery from T1 Outages

In cases where customers' T1 lines go down, FastFax can now recover automatically without requiring manual intervention. This facilitates maintenance and ensures FastFax will be back online the moment the T1 line is made available again.

Release 4.7.4 is available immediately and is free of charge to existing FastFax customers. Current Quadrant Software customers can achieve significant savings and improvements in their business processes by taking advantage of the new release.
