IBM PureApplication Service on SoftLayer enables you to quickly deploy and manage the lifecycle of enterprise workloads in a dedicated, isolated cloud environment.

This release includes the following enhancements:

  • Add multiple virtual LANs (VLANs) under a cloud group, which helps to secure three-tier applications on the cloud.
  • Purchase backup and restore capability and DirectLink connectivity via an online self-service portal.
  • Set up your backup and restore capability in a data center different from the one used for your operating workloads.

 

In addition, the General Parallel File System (GPFS™) pattern, required for High Availability Disaster Recovery (HADR), is enabled on PureApplication Service.
