TMW Systems, Inc., a large North American provider of enterprise management software designed specifically for the transportation services industry, has announced solid growth during the first half of 2008.

The company added 90 new North American clients to its base of more than 1,700 worldwide transportation and logistics providers, while also enjoying strong sales growth in the form of software upgrades and new services to existing clients. TMW hired 41 new employees during the same period.

According to David W. Wangler, TMW's president and CEO, all product families enjoyed solid growth, led by the company's fuel optimization software, which grew more than 52 percent compared to the same period in 2007. TMW's newest customers, he said, are generally larger companies who are often sophisticated technology buyers.

"We are observing a trend where companies that had invested in other systems have outgrown them," Wangler said. "They are replacing them because of inadequate performance and scalability.  To their advantage, companies are doing their homework, and then selecting TMW, especially now that the economic stakes are higher and the business challenges are greater."

Several new clients explained how TMW Systems is bringing value to their operations.

Barb Pitroski, director of Freight Solutions for GENCO, a company with more than 125 operations throughout North America, indicated that selecting TMW software solutions means fine tuning business processes.

"TMW has the tools in place for improved equipment and carrier qualification, a solid freight board interface, and other broker-specific planning," Pitroski said.

Mont Reed, president of Michigan-based contract carrier and 3PL provider VSF Transportation, said TMW's breadth and scope won his company's business.

"We deal with everything from LTL to Truckload," Reed said. "We looked for a multi-dimensional fit and found that TMW is the most versatile. And we're convinced that the platform will grow as we grow."

For Kim Kaplan, president and COO of Ohio-based professional bulk transport contractor K-Limited Carrier, Ltd., TMWSuite made it possible to run more efficiently and offer the best possible customer service.

"We are now able to immediately pull the data we need to make an important decision and to identify causes and solutions to continue to improve our business process," Kaplan said.

Tim O'Connell, president and owner of New York-based transportation and logistics provider Productive Transportation, said TMW's wide array of technology solutions and customization made it a solid choice.

"From the start, we were able to integrate the TMWSuite technology with the programs we utilize in our day-to-day activities," O'Connell said. "The ability of all departments to utilize information from one system saves time and money and streamlines the operational process."

The company's successful lines of business include TMW Enterprise Transportation Software (ETS), TMW Asset Maintenance Software (AMS) and TMW Optimization Software.  In addition to TMW's well-known system, TMWSuite, the company's TruckMate, TL2000, TMT Fleet Maintenance, and TMW Optimization products round out the portfolio.

Company leaders also project continued brisk license sales for IDSC ExpertFuel throughout the remainder of the fiscal year and well into 2009. The popular fuel-purchase-optimization software, designed for fleets of 50-plus, complements and powers up dispatch and mobile communication systems with best-in-class fuel pricing and routing data. IDSC ExpertFuel, along with IDSC TripAlert, IDSC MatchAdvice and IDSC Netwise, became part of the TMW Systems group of offerings when the company acquired Richardson, Texas-based Integrated Decision Support Corporation in late 2007.

In addition to GENCO, VSF Transportation, K-Limited Carrier, Ltd., and Productive Transportation, the other companies choosing products from the TMW software portfolio during the first and second quarters of 2008 include Coca-Cola Bottling-Philadelphia,  Clarke Power Services, Inc. and DHL Express (Mexico and Canada), Inc.,  for TMT Fleet Maintenance software; Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), BP Express Inc., and Hardy Brothers, Inc., for TruckMate 8.0 software;  Miller Transporters, Inc., for both TMWSuite and TMT Fleet Maintenance software; CRST Carrier Group and Harris Trucking Co., for TMW Optimization software; Cardinal Metal, Inc., ECL Group of Companies, First Choice Logistics, Hilco Transport Inc., Jaro Transportation Services Inc., Polaris Petroleum, Ltd., Dedicated Distribution Services, Inc. and Stallion Oilfield Services contracting for TMWSuite software.
