WebSphere DataPower gateway appliances are positioned to act as security and integration gateways for a full range of web, mobile, application programming interface (API), service-oriented architecture (SOA), business-to-business (B2B), and cloud workloads in a single, highly secure, highly consumable, DMZ-ready appliance.

 

Version 6.0.1 new features and enhancements include:

  • Improved application scalability and performance for HTTP and web services workloads with added support for the Application Optimization feature on the DataPower B2B Appliance XB62
  • The ability to leverage the DataPower B2B Appliance XB62 to provide API gateway functionality for the IBM API Management V2.0 solution
  • Improved handling of large message payloads for optimal performance and transmission to back-end systems
  • Enhanced JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) schema support for more flexible and easier-to-create message validation for Representational State Transfer (REST), mobile, and API workloads
  • Seamless utilization of XQuery and JSONiq to access DataPower-unique data structures and metadata to control mediation flows
  • Enhanced WS-MediationPolicy support to more easily take advantage of XQuery and JSON schema validation within dynamic processing policies
  • IPv6 certification by University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL) for USGv6 compliance
  • The ability to configure the appliance to allow the main task of the firmware to run in Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2 Level 1 cryptographic mode
  • The capability to configure the appliance to comply with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) SP800-131a security standard

 

Note: Firmware V6.0.1 is not supported on 9235/9004 physical appliances.
