Today, software tool developer mrc made the second of what are expected to be three major announcements the software maker has planned. TodayÆs announcement focuses on major advancements to their business intelligence capabilities and more flexible database access. mrc produces m-Power and the mrc-Productivity Series, two development tool suites that allow users to rapidly create custom business Web applications in Java, without writing a single line of code. mrc recently announced brand new Web 2.X templates, giving mrc customers the ability to not only create Java applications, but to incorporate Web 2.0 technologies, and beyond.

Here are just a few of the improvements specific to BI capabilities:

  • Better dashboard views: m-Power's new BI capabilities include the ability to more easily import your own logic, and entire applications. That import advancement alone makes it easier to create a dashboard, and more powerful because of the ability to pass parameters to multiple applications at once.
  • More flexible data dissemination: New customized SQL capabilities mean you'll have access to more flexible business intelligence, and more versatile business views. Slice and dice data any way you want it.
  • Improved security: Authentication rules are easier to maintain, and allow users to make proper security changes on the fly. That means your business data is always in the right hands.

Additionally, these other recently featured advancements also play a part in mrc's improved BI offerings:

  • Better Speed: Applications built with these templates are lightning fast because the code base of the new application is about 1/10 of that of the old templates.
  • Enhanced Scalability: Multi-user/multi-thread design means 50-95% faster response rate due to more efficient processing, and allows simultaneous usage with increased performance.
  • Faster response times: Because your applications incorporate AJAX technology, users get the power and security of the network, but the feel of running their applications locally.
  • Incorporation of powerful outside technology: m-Power's new import function means integrating outside technologies, and that means your developers can keep your users constantly up to date with the latest offerings-even when they don't come from mrc. Stay tuned for the upcoming announcement focused on business application vendors and independent consultants.

If you'd like to see how easy m-Power is to use, there is an online test drive available where you can build two server-side Java applications (including tutorial) in under half an hour--without any knowlege of Java. Take the challenge!
