IBM Rational Lifecycle Integration Adapters Standard Edition supports customers who practice Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) in a heterogeneous, lifecycle tools environment. These adapters allow customers to continue using their existing lifecycle tools and still gain benefit from the capabilities found in the Rational ALM products. The offering includes adapters for HP ALM, Atlassian JIRA, and open source Git.

Rational Lifecycle Integration Adapters Tasktop Edition extends Rational ALM with additional integrations to third-party tools. The Tasktop Edition provides adapters that integrate Rational Team Concert with HP ALM, HP Quality Center, Atlassian JIRA, Microsoft Team Foundation Server, and open source Bugzilla. The HP ALM and JIRA adapters found in the Tasktop Edition supplement those included in the Standard Edition to support additional use cases and alternative, customer workflow environments.

Both Standard and Tasktop Editions of the Rational Lifecycle Integration Adapters were announced with the perpetually managed Processor Value Unit (PVU) charge metric. Managed PVU licensing is based on the hardware specifications of the computers designated to host the "endpoints" of the lifecycle tool integrations. PVU licensing appeals to enterprises where many users can immediately benefit from using one or more of the adapters.

Available now are additional licensing options for customers to consider when purchasing the Rational Lifecycle Integration Adapters:

  • Fixed Term Licensing for  Managed PVUs - Supports customers who benefit from the PVU model but want to structure their software costs on a yearly expense basis.
  • Fixed Term Licensing for single authorized users - Supports customers who want to have a staggered roll out of Rational products, or expect to never have more than a few practitioners who benefit from lifecycle integrations.
  • Fixed Term Licensing for Floating Users - Supports customers accustomed to sharing a pool of licenses across one or more projects and manage access to those tools on a concurrent usage basis.

Combined with the perpetually managed PVU model already in place, the IBM Rational Lifecycle Integration Adapters are now applicable to a wide range of customer financial situations and technical requirements.
