IBM Messaging Extension for Web Application Pattern V2.0 extends IBM Web Application Pattern V2.0 to help eliminate the amount of time cloud application writers can spend specifying, defining, and managing a WebSphere MQ messaging infrastructure required by their applications. Application dependencies are identified by Web Application Pattern, and Messaging Extension for Web Application Pattern can provide the means to automatically provision messaging resources to satisfy these dependencies when the application is deployed.
Automatic provisioning removes the need for the application developer to perform these tasks. This consistent and repeatable cloud-deployed environment helps minimize the time required to put applications into production.
Businesses are under constant pressure to deliver new applications quickly in response to emerging opportunities. Shortening the length of time to develop and test applications is essential to minimizing this delivery time. Messaging Extension for Web Application Pattern extends Web Application Pattern to deliver repeatable provisioning and lifecycle management. Isolation of queuing resources can enable you to focus on application development rather than infrastructure. Messaging Extension for Web Application Pattern helps you to consistently provision and deploy the resources required by the applications. The whole lifecycle of the messaging resources is controlled, helping to ensure all the WebSphere MQ queue managers, queues, topics, channels, and connections are created as required at deployment time, and subsequently removed when the application deployment is no longer needed.
This extension to Web Application Pattern gives you access to queuing resources directly from the Virtual Application Builder. No additional tools, interfaces, or scripts are needed to learn. The specified messaging resources are translated by Messaging Extension for Web Application Pattern into a dedicated set of WebSphere MQ objects. This helps to ensure that all relevant messaging resources are present in the application's deployment environment. Each application deployment has its own dedicated and isolated messaging resources, helping reduce the risk of applications unintentionally interacting.
Messaging Extension for Web Application Pattern:
- Is based on industry-leading WebSphere MQ messaging technology
- Extends Web Application Pattern to automatically provision WebSphere MQ messaging resources as part of cloud application deployment
- Helps reduce time required for the development and testing of cloud applications
- Helps reduce risk by enabling isolation during the development and testing phases of application development
- Integrates directly into the Virtual Application Builder, helping to eliminate the need to learn additional tooling
