Chicago software tools company reasserts its commitment to the IBM community and PartnerWorld.

GeneXus, a provider of agile development tools and an IBM Business Partner since 1989, this week announced the release of the first update (Update 1) to GeneXus Evolution 1 (EV1).

GeneXus EV1 has RPG, COBOL, .Net (C#), Java, Ruby, and VFP generators. It supports IBM’s leading databases such as DB2 (all versions except Z/OS) and Informix, as well as SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, and PostgresSQL.

In continuing to release the RPG and COBOL generators with the latest version of its products, GeneXus is reasserting the longstanding commitment to the IBM community and the Advanced Business Partner Program.

“IBM is a strategic partner with GeneXus, and we value the relationship," said Dane Drotts, president of GXUSA. "Our IBM customers can rest assured that we will continue to support RPG and COBOL, as well as provide our technology for Web development and modernization projects for their DB2 and Informix Databases”

GeneXus X Evolution 1 is the multi-platform version that facilitates teamwork, takes the developer's experience to a higher level, and makes it possible to build impressive enterprise-level applications. Principal Features include the following:

  • Team Development

GX X EV1 makes it easier to work as part of a team and collaborate by implementing your and others' contributions thanks to GXserver and Change Defender.

  • Developer Experience

More dynamic and interactive queries, fewer administrative tasks, richer interface, built-in debugger, and the ability to use bigger KBs and the BPMN suit bring significant improvements to the developer's experience.

  • Enterprise-level Applications

It is easier now to build mission-critical applications that leverage the advantages of Web 2.0 and that can be adapted to changing market requirements.

  • Completeness

In addition to Web support, this version includes GUI, TEXT and Windows Mobile generators. It also features editors for work panels, menu bars, menus and text mode reports.
