Responding to the growing application requirements of its customers, CYBRA has incorporated a host of forms management features, new printer drivers, usability enhancements, and a way for users of other System i bar-code label software to easily convert to MarkMagic and take advantage of the advanced features the CYBRA software offers.

Among the features included in the new release are:

  • Additional RFID SupportùMarkMagic 6 includes enhanced control of RFID field types and formatting to meet evolving industry standard compliance specifications, including EPC Gen 2 and DOD, to help customers meet their RFID needs now and in the future.

  • New MarkMagic Administration Menu provides increased security and control over several MarkMagic operations. This new menu lets users limit the use of the i5/OS Command Line and edit object authority for precise control of who has access to various MarkMagic functions and objects. Other menu choices include Product Setup and Licensing, MarkMagic User Libraries, Version Control, and Utilities.

  • Fax Support AddedùCYBRA added fax support to the PDF e-mail option. In addition to being able to produce PDF documents containing searchable text and readable bar codes that can be sent as e-mail attachments, the documents now can be sent by fax. This new capability works in conjunction with IBM's Fax/400 product.

  • New JMagic FunctionalityùAmong the enhancements included in the new JMagic 6 WYSIWYG client designer is an all-new look and feel with improved menus, additional bar-code field control, and a powerful Lasso Tool. Select multiple fields on the JMagic canvas by simply clicking and dragging the mouse across the screen. Once selected, users can nudge a group of fields with arrow keys, delete, copy or drag with the mouse.

  • Support for Paxar/Monarch Pathfinder Ultra 6039ùMarkMagic 6 includes support for this innovative scan, print, and apply handheld label printer. MarkMagic and the Monarch Pathfinder Ultra Printer provide System i flexibility for labeling applications such as markdowns, item identification, cross docking, carton routing, and UPC printing. "We are responding to customer requirements for advanced, yet easy-to-use auto-ID and forms software," says Harold Brand, president of CYBRA Corp. "The new functions in MarkMagic 6 enable customers to implement advanced bar-code and RFID applications without costly custom programming."
