Following Nokia's announcement to discontinue offering its enterprise mobility solution, Intellisync, global Lotus Notes mobile messaging and applications provider CommonTime is reinforcing its commitment to corporate mobility. CommonTime is offering free upgrade licenses to existing Intellisync customers looking for a new vendor, the company announced.
CommonTime's mSuite5 upgrade offer includes centralized device management policy enforcement for mobile messaging and line-of-business (LOB) applications. Users will also benefit from an integrated platform for adding additional line-of-business (LOB) applications for field service and sales support or developing custom applications with an integrated development toolkit, the company said. The package also includes two free applications for expenses and time management.
"Following Nokia's decision to move away from corporate mobility on September 30th, large numbers of organizations worldwide are experiencing uncertainty," said Simon Charly, CommonTime vice president of Marketing. "CommonTime is pleased to offer a comprehensive alternative for mobile messaging and business applications at no extra costs, while... (customers) are within their maintenance period. With mSuite5, Intellisync customers can continue to enforce existing security and device policies as well as benefit from an integrated development platform for mobilizing their own line of business applications," he said.
Companies wanting to upgrade to mSuite5 will not have to pay any license costs during their Nokia Intellisync maintenance period, based on the number of existing users, the company said. Cost may be incurred, however, for support services depending on the complexity of porting existing mobile applications built on Intellisync's platform.
mSuite5 supports all PDA's, Pocket PC's and Smartphones running Windows Mobile or Symbian S60 3rd Ed software. This includes the new Nokia E and N Series as well as popular devices from device manufacturers including HTC, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, and Motorola.
