Anywhere anytime access to critical digital documents supports the needs of a growing mobile workforce.
With the ever increasing demands of a mobile workforce, Electronic Storage Corporation hits the mark with the newest release of its document management solution. LaserVault DMS10 provides access to digital documents from any device, including iPad, iPhone, and Google Android tablets and phones, and via any browser: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and Google Chrome.
According to Ax Synar, Executive VP at LaserVault, “With the increased mobility of today’s workforce comes the need for businesses to be able to access their documents and data from anywhere. LaserVault DMS10 helps them do that. The ability to pull up any document for approval when out of the office is critical to helping our customers succeed in their business. And DMS10 can be fully integrated with IBM i host systems, as well as web, Windows, and Linux applications.”
“Our LaserVault DMS solution is a feature-rich document management system that helps companies get instant access to their documents and reduce the amount of paper they deal with on a daily basis, and that reduces the associated material and handling costs of that paper. With DMS10 and its multi-browser capability they can now access those documents from virtually anywhere and at any time.”
Although well established as an IBM i vendor, the DMS solution extends LaserVault’s business outside the IBM i market. Synar explains, “DMS10 integrates with IBM i, web, Windows, and Linux applications. But for IBM i shops, DMS10 provides a powerful document management solution that can also be used with our LaserVault Reports system. For AS/400 and iSeries users, this means they gain automation and control over their paper documents as well as their reports, resulting in lower costs and better efficiencies.”
LaserVault’s DMS solution is a browser-based document management system with enterprise-level functionality that includes the ability to scan, capture, retrieve, index, and route documents. Standard software features include workflow, text and zone OCR, unlimited users, interface, scanning, editing, reports, form designers, structured searches, full text searches, user permissions, security and encryption. LaserVault DMS10 runs on the Microsoft .Net Framework so users can access their documents from most any pc, tablet, or smart phone, and they can use the built-in data entry screens or write their own.
Brad Jensen, President of LaserVault, explains the importance of an effective document management solution, “Companies who have light speed access to their documents and data are more likely to remain current and competitive in today’s fierce business climate. Regardless of the industry, the world keeps moving faster and dealing with paper documents slows a company down.”
“The bottom line is that paper eats up a company’s productivity and profitability. Documents get lost and misfiled. Payments get missed. Signatures misplaced. That’s where automated workflow comes in. It takes the human error out of business processes and ensures that every step happens. Critical documents are available with a keystroke, not stuck in an in-box somewhere waiting for a signature.”
He continues, “Will companies eliminate all paper? Probably not for some time to come. But there are areas in every company where it makes sense to start now. These include the departments that tend to be the most paper-intensive like accounts payable, accounts receivable, human resources, customer service, purchasing, and shipping and receiving. Paper-heavy departments quickly realize significant benefits when using DMS10. Our customers usually start in one or two departments and expand from there. We’ve found that once a department starts using DMS, they wish they had gotten it sooner. The improvements in their processes are that great.”
The DMS10 solution is available from Electronic Storage Corporation and select domestic and international resellers. An on-line demo is available. Current users of LaserVault DMS or LaserVault Imaging can contact Electronic Storage Corporation to learn about the upgrade and conversion options to DMS10.
