If you are attaching a PC to an AS/400 virtual printer you probably have a lot of printing to do in a short time. To make your high volume dot matrix (IBM 4234, Epson DFX5000, etc.) printer run as efficiently as possible, run the printer at the lowest quality you can get by with, i.e. draft mode. The problem is, after you have generated a print file for a virtual printer it can be a little tricky to print it in draft mode. The solution is to display the spool files and find the QPVPRINT print file. Then, do a change (option 2) and roll ahead to the 2nd screen. Now you can set the print quality to *DRAFT, *STD, *NLQ, etc.
