If you deal with communications often and use the Start Pass-Through (STRPASTHR) command to sign on to a remote system, you probably use the End Pass-Through (ENDPASTHR) command when you are done working on the remote system and want to go back to the local one. If you use the SIGNOFF command, you may go back to the sign-on screen of the target system without stopping the communication. This may be confusing, especially if you don't know which system you're on.
In V2R3, a new parameter to the SIGN-OFF command, End Connection (ENDCNN), solves this problem. It defaults to *NO. To make it *YES, key the following:
CHGCMDDFT CMD(QSYS/SIGNOFF) + NEWDFT('ENDCNN(*YES)')
This will end pass-through when signing off from a remote system. If you change the command directly in QSYS, keep track of it, as this change will be lost when you install a new release.
