HelpSystems today announced that the latest version of Robot Monitor offers new functionality for monitoring the Virtual I/O Server (VIOS), which controls virtualization across Power Systems servers, as well as the AIX operating system.
Organizations running IBM i have historically struggled to anticipate issues that might affect their VIOS environment, having minimal visibility into the metrics that indicate VIOS health. With this new functionality in Robot Monitor, IBM i operators can more easily identify strain points and reallocate or add resources before bottlenecks degrade system and application performance.
“In our annual IBM i marketplace survey, we’re seeing more and more IBM i shops run AIX and IBM i on the same server,” said Chris Heim, CEO, HelpSystems. “We wanted to take our solution—which is already the most comprehensive performance monitoring tool available for IBM i—and extend its capabilities to other areas.”
“We’re happy to deliver visibility for our customers running multiple operating systems on the Power platform,” said Tim Woodfield, Software Development Manager, HelpSystems. “Our end goal is to make it possible for customers to monitor the performance of their entire Power Systems environment with a single tool.”
HelpSystems offers a free, 30-day trial of Robot Monitor, which includes full product access and free support.
