MGE Office Protection Systems has introduced its new Pulsar MX UPS models that have been designed specifically for protecting blade servers. Increased power requirements, power architecture changes, and power management demands pose important challenges and considerations for today's power-hungry IT infrastructures.
The Pulsar MX is designed to address these needs and uses a modular, redundant architecture that can scale power and runtime as demand increases or when higher levels of availability are required, all in a compact and affordable system, the company says.
These versatile power modules can be installed in rack or tower configurations, for easy placement, and offer modular designs that can accommodate changing server configurations, redundancy, and backup time requirements. They can provide up to 20 kVA or 15 kVA in redundant configurations using 5 kVA submodules, while hot-swappable components enable maximum uptime, even during maintenance operations, according to the company.
The systems' 0.09 power factor, wide input voltage window, and excellent efficiencies that save energy and heat make the Pulsar MX the ideal power protection solution for dense computing environments.
