Vision Solutions has announced the formation of an independent user group in Russia. The group, comprised of local customers and business partners, encourages the exchange of best practices and cutting-edge technological information.

"Vision Solutions software is a strategic component of our IT operations and we all will benefit from sharing innovative ideas and practices with other regional businesses using Vision's technology," said Alexander Kazakov, Vision Solutions user group chairman and IT dept. manager from Alfa Bank. "We are eager to invite and learn from key industry leaders attending our events."

The user group will provide Vision Solutions with useful information to assist in future high availability technology development and influence market direction throughout the region. There is also a plan to expand the group with customers and partners from other Commonwealth-of-Independent-States countries-most notably Belarus, Kazakhstan, and the Ukraine.

"We are very proud and excited to have this user group in Russia," says Mike Khattab, vice president of Vision Solutions' growth markets. "Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States is a strategic region to both Vision Solutions and IBM. The initiative led by Mr. Kazakov gives Vision Solutions a great opportunity for direct customer feedback as we continue to deliver products that will make their lives as IT professionals easier. With our business partners' help, we're looking forward to closer collaboration with our customers throughout the region."

Vision Solutions has a strong and loyal customer base in the region. Widening EU borders has brought the region closer and enabled a significant increase in international business operations, while placing new demands on businesses such as 24/7 operations, international standards for data management, and increased transaction loads on systems. Vision Solutions addresses these demands and has enabled smooth transitions for many companies within the finance sector.

"For more than 10 years, Vision Solutions has actively increased our presence in Russia and this group is a natural progression of our growth as well as an effective way to communicate with users," says Alexander Trekin, director of sales for the region. "We hope to attract top industry speakers to the group on a regular basis and we value the opportunity to share our latest developments with others."
