Frank Soltis among noted speakers to discuss future of IBM i OS at iBelieve! seminar.
The IBM i platform has a new, free event to explore its capabilities and successes, looksoftware announced this week.
The company said it will host a free open event for the IBM i community on Friday, May 4 at the Hyatt Regency, Orange County, California. Entitled "i Believe!" the day-long seminar will be focused on exploring the future of the IBM i platform and coincides with the start of the COMMON 2012 conference Sunday, May 6, at the Disneyland Resort in nearby Anaheim, California.
Speakers at the iBelieve! seminar will include Frank Soltis, a former IBM chief scientist and founder of the AS/400; Alison Butterill, IBM Power Systems application development offering manager; Jon Paris and Susan Gantner of the Partner400 education and consulting service, and Trevor Perry, executive vice president of COMMON and head of the Angus Thinks! consultancy.
The speakers will explain why they believe in the IBM i platform and will deliver thought-provoking sessions on how to extract maximum value from IBM i investments, according to Paul Hodgkinson, looksoftware Marketing manager.
Brendan Kay, looksoftware CEO, sees the event as an opportunity to open up the discussion surrounding the platform and highlight its many attributes. “We believe in the IBM i—it’s the most cost effective, scalable, and reliable application server on the market," says Kay. "We meet many hundreds of people every year who share that belief but who are unaware of the full extent of the platform’s power," he says.
"When we first started discussing this idea we were struck by the passion of the IBM i community and we are thrilled to have an amazing lineup of fascinating and informative speakers," says Kay. "It is our hope that every attendee will leave the event with a deeper appreciation of the platform and a better understanding of how it can support their business into the future."
A full agenda for the iBelieve! seminar will be released in the coming weeks, however interested attendees may register now at http://www.looksoftware.com/i-believe.aspx, or, alternatively, email
