Reader enjoys 27-inch high definition monitor after entering 'See the Big IT Picture' giveaway.

A Cedar Rapids programmer analyst is the lucky winner in the latest MC Press Online contest, "See the Big IT Picture," promoting the company's popular download center of white papers, webcasts, and software.

Wayne Boddicker, a programmer analyst with Western Fraternal Life Association, who resides in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, won a 27-inch high-definition computer monitor, valued at $325, after he entered the MC Press Online contest.

"Thanks again to you and MC Press Online for the wonderful HD monitor," said Boddicker after receiving his prize. "I love it."

"This usually never happens to me," said Boddicker. "Thank you so much MC Press!"

Boddicker's name was selected by Advertising Sales Manager Kara Keating Stuart in a random drawing last month for the coveted HD monitor. MC Press Online has been offering a series of highly desirable high-tech prizes every quarter in its contests to encourage readers to try its extensive collection of white papers, webcasts, and software downloads, all available free from the MC Press Resource Centers.

"The HD monitor was one of our most highly sought-after prizes and spurred a large number of entries into the quarterly 'See the Big IT Picture' giveaway," said MC Press Online Marketing Director Jeff Phillips. "It was right up there with the iPad among our prizes that readers really got excited about," he said.

Phillips said the latest contest from MC Press Online, called "Take Control of Your IT Future," features a prize that is a touch of luxury for anyone who has a multi-device audio-video setup. The Logitech Harmony 1100 advanced universal remote control lets the user turn on the right devices in the correct order—all with a single touch. It features a 3.5-inch full color touch screen that gives the user fast access to the functions used most—even in the dark. The Harmony 1100 supports 225,000 devices and replaces up to 15 remotes. It has customizable commands and icons and comes with a base station that serves as a recharger, so there are never any batteries to replace.

"For those of us who are constantly fumbling around with multiple remotes trying to find the right one, the Harmony 1100 is a joy to behold," says Phillips. The device has a retail value of $350.

To enter your name into the drawing for the Harmony 1100, visit the MC Webcast Center, MC White Paper Center, MC Security Center, MC Software Center or MC Disaster Recovery Center and enter your name into the contest. While there, be sure to check out one of the most comprehensive collections of IBM Power Systems solutions libraries available anywhere on the Web. They say knowledge is power, and the selection of white papers, webcasts, and software downloads is designed to help readers solve a wide variety of IT challenges that many face every day.

Just check the boxes for the career-boosting offers you wish to download, as well as the one to enter the contest, and submit online. One lucky winner will receive the Harmony 1100 remote control following the next prize drawing on September 30. (Sorry, entries are limited to residents of the United States and Canada only.) Please, only one entry per visitor is permitted. The winner will be notified by email, so good luck, and we will look forward to publishing your name in the next story announcing this fall's winner in the MC Press Online "Take Control of Your IT Future" giveaway!
