Des Moines systems integrator jazzed about ACOM's VAR Success Program.

Associated Computer Systems, Ltd. (ACS), a network, systems, storage technology, and management services provider with 30 years experience, has completed ACOM Solutions' technical training course to become a certified VAR, Joe Torano ACOM Channel Division vice president announced today.

Headquartered in Des Moines, IA, ACS serves clientele in Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, Illinois and Missouri, with a staff of some 35 people.

“Our company is strong in the IBM Power Systems and System i/iSeries markets, where ACOM also has a strong presence,” said David R. Backstrom, vice president of sales and marketing. “We needed a partner to help us broaden our software offerings and the fact that ACOM is an IBM Global Solutions provider was very important in our partnering with them. ACOM’s offerings fit extremely well with the directions we need to take and they will be an important partner as we move up the value-add chain.”

According to Backstrom, ACOM was a stand-out when ACS was searching for a workflow solution for one of its clients. “The EZContentManager solution is surprisingly easy to use, affordable, and easy to support,” he said. “People are surprised at how robust it is for the price.”

“With the ACOM software, we are equipped to go beyond IT; we can now also talk directly to the CFO about solving their business issues.

“We are very excited about this new relationship; ACOM is extremely partner-friendly. Their VAR Success Program enabled us to start driving leads right away through a comprehensive marketing package that includes a great set of pre-made, ready-to-go campaigns, collateral, and demonstrations. It’s like having our own extended marketing department. They’ve made it so easy that essentially all we have to do is click ‘send’.”

In just a few months as a partner, ACS has the first customer for ACOM’s EZContentManager document management solution in the closing process and several others are in the pipeline, the company reported.
