Quadrant Software, a leading software developer for paperless process management solutions for the System i and Windows enterprises, has announced the creation of regional workshops that focus on teaching techniques necessary to analyze business needs and create a viable document management project plan.

Challenges associated with implementing document management and document imaging technology projects are well known, and are not unusual. The basis for the creation of the workshops titled "7 Steps to Eliminate Paper" is the knowledge that a well developed plan will net a successful technology deployment.

"What we have learned over the years is that the time taken to analyze and plan for these implementations trumps the lure of the technology capabilities," says Gary Langton, Quadrant Software co-founder and CEO. "It is important to select a vendor partner who will roll up their sleeves and work with you to understand the ‘who, what and why' of the project, and be able to cost justify the solution before getting to the software and hardware recommendation."

How to leverage this methodology is the core focus of the half-day working event. In addition to an overview of the "7 Steps" project approach, attendees are provided a workbook, participate in roundtable discussions with other attendees, and leave with a comprehensive project plan.

This is a managerial level event, designed as a working session to apply the 7 Steps methodology laid out. As a result, companies are encouraged to bring business managers who understand the workplace challenges and are involved in making decisions associated with the project along with their IT counterparts. "Excellent workshop! Related to all areas of both hard and soft dollar savings. ‘The way of the future!'" said recent attendee Maria Mazzoni, accounts payable manager with Zotos International Inc. The final goal is to deliver the know-how and tools to enable managers to create and deploy a successful paperless solution.

Held in selected cities across the United States, the workshops are designed to accommodate a limited number of attendees in order to allow maximum participation and discussion. The workshops would normally cost $300 to register, however, due to the support of several business partners sponsoring the upcoming events, the registration fee has been waived for the following workshops:

* Grand Rapids, MI - June 3

* Milwaukee, WI - June 4

* Minneapolis, MN - June 5

* Torrance, CA - June 10

* Union City, CA - June 11

* Houston, TX - July 15

* Dallas, TX - July 16

Each session is facilitated by Quadrant Software's Kurt Wachtendorf, a certified document imaging architect (CDIA+) with more than 15 years experience in document management and imaging implementations. "Kurt is a phenomenal speaker. He helped me with some of my biggest fears about implementing a paperless solution," reports Kevin Blake, business systems analyst of Lytron "This is the best workshop I've been to. So much of it applies to how we do business that it was really easy to relate to what we do." One of the added benefits of the workshop is the one-on-one interaction with both peers and industry experts who share their expertise in this collaborative environment.
