COBOL Input Programming first describes the COBOL programming techniques used to process input for typical business applications.

The course begins by describing typical problems associated with input processing. Solutions to these problems are discussed in detail throughout the rest of the course.  Students are introduced to methods for handling input files that contain multiple record types. You will see how to detect and process input errors. You will also find out how to control the processing each input record receives. In addition, you will see various techniques for selecting specified records from a file, processing combined conditions, and using case structures. This course ends by explaining how to manipulate character strings.

As with all Manta courses, a one-year, single-user license for COBOL Input Programming is available for $120. Customers who opt for the entire series will receive a two-year license for the price of one year ($1296). Each new course will appear in the student’s menu as it becomes available.

Customers who have an existing license to the IBM i Training Library or the Program Development Combination Pack will discover that COBOL Output Programming has already been added to their menu options.

You can check out the new series by visiting www.mantatech.com, where you can take the first session of any of Manta’s 114 courses and Competency Exams, including the new COBOL products.
