The Maxava iFoundation issued a reminder to IBM i user groups that the deadline to submit funding requests for 2013-2014 is fast approaching.  Applications for grants are being accepted through June 30.

The Maxava iFoundation was established by Maxava to provide financial assistance for not-for-profit initiatives and to organizations dedicated to growing and strengthening the IBM i community.  Funding of $50,000 has been provided by Maxava to allow the foundation to offer grants of up to $2,000 for each qualifying organization.

"Maxava is exclusively focused on the IBM i and is absolutely committed to the continuing success of the platform," said Allan Campbell, CEO of Maxava. "The main goal of the iFoundation is to encourage the continued growth of a positive IBM i ecosystem and the ongoing growth and development of the people that operate within that realm."

"As a regular speaker at COMMON and having seen the great work of so many User Groups in the IBM i space first hand I would encourage the IBM i community to file an application as early as possible with the Maxava iFoundation," added Richard Dolewski, Chief Business Continuity Officer of Maxava.

The Maxava iFoundation offers grants to interest groups for the general promotion and free exchange of knowledge, ideas, and skills related to IBM i.  As with previous years, applications for grants are welcomed from any not-for-profit organization helping to enhance the broader IBM i community in any part of the world.

The grants can be used to support activities such as, but not limited to, educational conferences and workshops, speaker expenses, marketing and educational collaboration with local colleges and universities.

Interested organizations are encouraged to visit www.maxavaifoundation.com to view application criteria and download the application form in order to submit before the June 30 deadline.  Alternatively, they can email This email address is being protected from spambots.
