IBM extends special recognition to a small group of dedicated IBM i professionals at the 2011 IBM Power Systems Technical University.

COMMON issued a statement today congratulating members of the COMMON volunteer community who were recognized as IBM Power Champions by Dr. Colin Parris, vice president, IBM Systems and Technology Group, during the general session of the 2011 IBM Power Systems Technical University in Miami Beach. Award winners included COMMON volunteers Pete Massiello, Trevor Perry, Roxanne Reynolds-Lair, Brian May, David Gibbs, Susan Gantner, and Jon Paris.

"It’s a great honor to be recognized as a leader and mentor in the Power Systems community by IBM through this award," said Pete Massiello, COMMON president and award recipient. "It is also a great testament to COMMON and this community that the majority of the winners have been volunteers, leaders, and educators with COMMON for such a long time." Massiello, Perry, and May were among the five award-winners who were called up on stage by Parris during the general session, each giving a brief talk on their involvement with the Power Systems community.

COMMON said it wished to extend its congratulations to the winners as well for their continued leadership and contributions to the community. View the complete list of winners in the IBM Champions for Power Systems category at https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/power/champions/
