Data Systems International, Inc. (DSI) has announced that SAP Americas will use dcLINK ASSETTrac for data collection in its annual fixed asset inventory process in 37 facilities in North and South America. The company will also use DSI's fixed asset data collection software to track IT assets at SAP trade shows and events.

SAP Americas will use dcLINK ASSETTrac and mobile bar code readers to download data from the SAP Fixed Asset Module, conduct the inventory using standardized data collection processes, and upload their results to SAP Fixed Asset Module. dcLINK ASSETTrac, part of DSI's dcLINK integrated suite of data collection software, reduces the cost of fixed asset inventory processes and improves the accuracy of the data collected by eliminating manual data entry.

"We considered DSI's data collection expertise, dcLINK ASSETTrac's depth of integration with our applications, and the business benefits we expect to gain as key factors in selecting this solution," said Rick Wenerd, of SAP Americas asset management department. "By using dcLINK ASSETTrac, we expect to conduct asset audits more quickly with reduced labor costs and improved data accuracy."

"DSI is pleased that SAP Americas has selected us to provide data collection functionality for their fixed assets inventory process. We are committed to helping them achieve the same outstanding benefits our other clients have realized using dcLINK ASSETTrac with integration to the SAP Fixed Assets Module," said Matt McGraw, president of DSI.
