Addition of NetShift employee time tracking to Gamma's HR/Payroll system produces easy-to-administer solution for HR managers and IT departments focused on reducing costs, improving processes.

Gamma Software, a leading  IBM Business Partner and developer of the GammaSoft Executive Suite accounting software for the IBM i Power Systems platform, has released an upgrade to its HR/Payroll system designed to optimize workforce management in a compelling new way, the company says.

Developed in partnership with Taylored Software, Gamma’s HR and Payroll systems have been tightly integrated with Taylored’s new NetShift Employee Time Tracking System to create a comprehensive, easy-to-administer solution for HR managers and IT departments focused on improving management processes and streamlining costs.

“Over the past few years, streamlining the costs associated with workforce management has become a high priority, since employees are typically a company’s largest monthly expense,” Gamma Software President Gary Mayfield  noted. “We’ve integrated the NetShift Employee Time Tracking System into our  HR and payroll systems to offer corporate managers the power and flexibility they need to really take control in this critical area and realize genuine bottom-line savings.

“Scalable, customized accounting solutions are what we’ve been providing to customers with our GammaSoft Executive Suite. Integrating an intuitive, flexible and feature-rich time tracking system makes a lot of sense,” Mayfield continued.  “It now gives managers the detailed information they want on demand and helps reduce costly errors in critical areas.”

Taylored Software president John Taylor agreed, saying, “NetShift and Gamma’s  HR/Payroll package are all Power i-based systems. The best features of both systems have been brought together to help managers analyze and extract information that supports quick decisions, solid employee management, and real bottom-line cost savings. Employers love the way the NetShift smart time clock works so seamlessly with Gamma’s backend systems, while placing more control and functionality at the clock,” he said.

Rather than working with duplicate sets of data, as many other time and attendance packages do when interfacing with HR/payroll systems, NetShift accesses Gamma’s payroll and HR files and databases directly. The payoff is improved data integrity, better data security, and lower ongoing costs associated with system maintenance and updates, according to the companies. Systems can share data more readily and support ad-hoc queries and report generation with greater speed and precision.

Since all of the data resides in IBM i,  rather than being shadowed on the time clock’s system, all of the proven security and reliability features that are  hallmarks of IBM midrange systems are also fully intact. This approach reduces the time and expense required to make any necessary modifications required at a customer’s site.

“Combine all of these functionality enhancements with lower maintenance fees  compared to competing solutions and our ‘Answer This’ 24/7 customer support,  and you’ve got the best of all worlds when it comes to workforce management,”  Taylor said.
