Lawson Software has announced the availability of ProcessFlow Integrator as an addition to the Lawson M3 Enterprise Management System. The new solution is designed to help organizations create business processes and establish how people share information among their Lawson enterprise applications, non-Lawson applications, and partners, clients, and customers. Lawson made the announcement during the recent 2008 Lawson Conference and User Exchange (CUE) in Las Vegas.

The new solution provides workflow and in-basket capabilities that complement the Lawson Smart Office Suite, which was also introduced during CUE. ProcessFlow Integrator is a Web services-capable solution already available within the Lawson S3 Enterprise Management System. It has been used by Lawson customers in healthcare, public sector, financial services and other services industries for five years. This new offering opens up these demonstrated capabilities to Lawson's manufacturing and distribution customers around the world.

ProcessFlow Integrator is a business process automation tool for Lawson applications focused on streamlining event-driven processes. For example, ProcessFlow Integrator is designed to make it easier for a company to create electronic workflows for common tasks such as HR staff needing to change an employee's pay or position. It can also help automate processes for common supply chain actions, including how raw materials are received, stored, and used. The processes in these examples then follow a prescribed path, aligned with the company's business rules. Users can also adjust the automated processes with ProcessFlow Integrator's ProcessFlow Designer component, which uses a graphical user interface and drag-and-drop functionality to build and alter flows without needing to understand programming languages.

ProcessFlow Integrator helps simplify integration of Lawson applications to non-Lawson application systems. It essentially "unlocks" data from where it resides and allows it to be used within another application. It embeds IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender, which helps deliver consistent data whether the information exists in an external Web service, or a human resources, financial, supply chain or other business application.

"ProcessFlow Integrator can help eliminate many of the business process headaches our Lawson M3 customers face," said Pramod Mathur, technical product director, Lawson Software. "Not only will ProcessFlow Integrator help companies reduce many manual processes, saving companies time, but it also will help maintain accuracy of their information, which can help reduce order and billing errors."
