Datavantage/CommercialWare Adds E-Commerce with Acquisition of eOne Group

Datavantage/CommercialWare, a leading provider of retail technology for the specialty and general merchandise retail industry, has announced the acquisition of a 51 percent interest in eOne Group, a premier e-commerce solutions provider based in Omaha, Nebraska. eOne Group and its offerings will be integrated into Datavantage/CommercialWare. (The company will be renamed MICROS-Retail later this year). Financial terms were not disclosed.

Datavantage/CommercialWare provides to its customers a comprehensive suite of retail solutionsùincluding point-of-sale, order management, customer service, inventory, and fulfillment systems, business analytics, loss prevention and marketing applications that allow merchants to efficiently deliver on the customer experience transparently across channels. The addition of eOne Group extends the capabilities to offer full support for the front end, customer-facing transactional Web sites and allows retailers to embrace Web 2.0 and the growth of this channel.

Its eOneCommerce engine and complementary products were developed with the open architecture of Java, allowing the company to deploy its applications and technology into virtually any enterprise and perform real-time data access to the customer's choice of OS/database/hardware platforms. Through the use of a three-tiered application architecture, eOne Group is able to separate the Web interface, business logic, and back-end data structures, allowing its solutions to interface with raw data structures, as well as flexibly accommodate existing application processes.
