EXTOL International has been selected by the COMMON Conference Education Committee to deliver two key business integration education sessions at the upcoming conference and exposition in Nashville, March 30-April 3. Mark Denchy, EXTOL director of product management, will explain issues and opportunities surrounding the removal of barriers between systems, processes, applications, and partners.

"Business integration has become a mainstream tool for bridging the gap between IT and business managers," says Denchy. "The complex way businesses must interact for supply- and demand-chain efficiencies necessitate (its)...use. These sessions will give COMMON attendees a good understanding of the related issues and the alternatives available."

The "Web Services Architecture" session will reveal how companies can achieve near real-time business-to-business (B2B) and application-to-application (A2A) collaborations. The session will discuss service-oriented architecture (SOA) and how Web Services complements integration platform services that supply process automation, data transformation, communication management, end-to-end auditing and other integration services without having to manage implementation details.

In the "Business Integration Patterns for the System i Professional" session, Denchy will provide an overview of the complex practice of enterprise integration, which requires a multi-faceted understanding of process automation, data transformation, communications, and other technologies. Attendees will learn the benefits of using integration patterns-reusable, best practice solutions-to solve different classes of integration issues.

COMMON is the networking community, industry advocate, and leading education provider for System i (AS/400, iSeries and System i5) users in North America. EXTOL is a leading provider of B2B integration software applications for both internal and external collaboration.
