Software AG launches Software AG Live, the first cloud-based Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) suite. With this launch, Software AG is now extending its offering from enabling enterprise-wide and on-premise solutions to creating agile and cloud-based applications through a comprehensive PaaS suite in the cloud.  Subject matter experts and IT professionals across organizations are now empowered to design and develop agile applications, while easily integrating existing systems.

Organizations are pressed more than ever to develop and deploy agile, scalable and secure solutions within days, rather than months.  To address the changing needs of the business environment a new set of solutions is needed to engage better with customers and leverage the impact the industry is seeing by the megatrends of cloud, social, mobile and big data.

By extending its business process and integration leadership to the cloud, Software AG is now offering a complete PaaS suite, unifying process design, agile application development and integration, while enabling customers to utilize hybrid cloud deployments to support their business needs.

“Software AG has been a strategic partner of Coca-Cola Enterprises for many years and was the vendor we trusted to help us explore digital strategies spanning the cloud and on-premise,” said Esat Sezer, CIO and senior vice president at Coca-Cola Enterprises. “As we continue to move to the cloud, we are looking forward to leveraging Software AG’s extended native cloud capabilities, helping us to become more flexible and achieve our business goals faster.”

According to a May, 2013 Gartner Inc. forecast, revenue for PaaS is growing from $1.2 billion in 2012 to $3.5 billion in 2017. Within the PaaS market, application infrastructure and middleware makes up the largest subsegment comprising 72% of the market.

“As the industry has evolved, we’ve seen the needs of our clients change with it,” said Karl-Heinz Streibich, CEO of Software AG. “With this launch, we are welcoming the next phase of Software AG, to help our customers create a truly digital enterprise and embrace the opportunities that cloud deployments offer.”
