IBM Predictive Solutions Foundation on Cloud is a cloud-based solution that addresses the most pressing industry and functional challenges by bringing together the breadth and depth of IBM's intellectual capital, software, infrastructure, and research to deliver outstanding results.

Predictive Solutions Foundation on Cloud now includes IBM Predictive Quality on Cloud and IBM Predictive Warranty on Cloud in addition to IBM Predictive Maintenance on Cloud. Predictive Maintenance on Cloud, an existing feature, enables users to monitor, maintain, and optimize assets for better utilization and performance.

Predictive Quality on Cloud enables users to gain a better understanding of root causes of manufacturing issues and apply the insights from the data towards solving these issues. Features of Predictive Quality on Cloud:

  • Loads master data and event data, examines quality data from different products, and proactively manages product quality.
  • Detects process variability that is not visible through traditional means.
  • Evaluates trace data and predicts with confidence whether the variability in the data is natural noise or a subtle indication of an impending problem.
  • Can view failure rate charts and evidence charts.
  • Detects unfavorable changes in variable-type data, and gets information that facilitates diagnostics and alarm prioritization.

Predictive Warranty on Cloud helps with the detection of conditions that lead to accelerated wear of assets and helps minimize warranty claims and related losses. Predictive Warranty on Cloud features:

  • Configure the solution to receive alerts when the product's random failure rate exceeds a computed threshold reflecting product reliability goals or financial liability goals.
  • Configure the solution to receive alerts about finding evidence that product failures are not random in time, but are indicative of normal wear and tear of assets.
  • Use warranty models based on sales, production, and manufacturing dates to detect warranty claim trends earlier than they would otherwise be detected so that the organization can intervene with corrective action.
