New offerings help quantify downtime costs and improve system health.

Vision Solutions has introduced two new, no-cost offerings designed to support Power Systems customers with availability and system performance needs. The Web-based Availability ROI Tool calculates how much money businesses can save with better IT availability by dynamically comparing the return on investment of popular availability strategies. This powerful tool uses common business data to calculate costs associated with application and system downtime and then graphically displays the return on investment a high availability or disaster recovery solution can deliver to businesses of any size running IBM i or AIX.

Vision’s new iSCORE solution quickly performs health checks on IBM i systems and generates a portfolio of graphical reports including a numeric summary score of the system’s state of optimization. Vision’s iSCORE is a no-cost, no-license utility designed to improve the overall total cost of ownership by highlighting opportunities to optimize system performance and disk utilization.

“These are tough economic times. Business leaders continue to look for new ways to justify their technology purchases and measure the value of their investments,” says Edward Vesely, senior vice president of marketing and business development for Vision Solutions. “iSCORE and our new ROI tool can be quickly populated with business data to give executives the information they need to improve system performance and determine strategic availability options for their organizations.”

With Vision’s Availability ROI Tool (ART), custom results are obtained by participating in a wizard-driven dialogue about the business, processes and expenses. Users are also able to view a brief educational video with a self-guided tutorial explaining how to use the tool. Results can be obtained in as little as five minutes and then printed or e-mailed to colleagues.

iSCORE diagnostic capabilities analyze multiple system attributes to compile a system health score that shows the potential benefits of system optimization. Reports can be e-mailed to Vision Solutions or a Vision business partner for a more detailed interpretation. The complimentary iSCORE is the newest offering in the Vision Director product family. Director is a highly integrated set of utilities that proactively monitors, manages and optimizes IBM i servers, databases and application environments. It also maintains complete audit trails to help organizations comply with stringent accountability and regulatory mandates. Vision and its worldwide partner network are the only high availability and disaster recovery specialists offering these insightful diagnostic tools.
