As I mentioned a few months ago, COMMON, IBM's largest user group, is sponsoring its IT Industry Decision Makers Executive Conference ("IT Executive Conference" for short) on October 13, 14, and 15 in Denver, Colorado. To register online, go to www.common.org and click on the IT Executive Conference link.
The IT Executive Conference will provide executives with a chance to learn about the latest industry trends, meet with IBM iSeries industry leaders, and discuss important issues with one another.
To qualify to attend this event, you must be an IT executive with budget approval authority or direct budgeting responsibility for your IT assets. If your boss is the company financial person (treasurer, CFO, that kind of thing), then you would find the IT Executive Conference of value. If you are a programmer and your boss is the Director or VP of IT, then your boss would find this event of value.
This is the inaugural IT Executive Conference for COMMON. COMMON does not expect hundreds of IT executives, but rather a small group of around 50 or so. "A small group gives us the ability to provide a level of personal service that we would be unable to provide a larger group," said Greg Brown, Marketing Manager for COMMON.
At the IT Executive Conference, attendees will meet with IBM executives such as Buell Duncan, the highest-ranking IBM executive for iSeries. Buell is a great person and is responsible for the entire iSeries product line. In addition, Wayne Madden of iSeriesNetwork, Bob Tipton of Robert S. Tipton, LLC, and Roxanne Reynolds-Lair of FIDM will be presenting important topics and networking with the attendees. Yours truly be there as well.
What you will get out of this event is in-person networking opportunities, information on educating your IT staff, and valuable professional contacts. Where else can you meet with Buell Duncan and the others over lunch?
Make it your point to attend the COMMON IT Executive Conference on October 13 to 15, 2002, at the Adams Mark hotel in Denver, Colorado. Sign up today at www.common.org/executive.html.
See you there!
