Help/Systems has announced the release of SEQUEL V9.0 business intelligence solution for System i. Users who need ad hoc queries, reports, or executive dashboards will find that System i data retrieval and presentation is fast and easy with SEQUEL 9.0, the company says.
V9.0 adds gauges (speedometers, thermometers, and dials) to executive dashboards to help monitor critical indicators as they change. Using the new Gauge Wizard, users can create professional-looking dashboards with just a few simple mouse clicks.
With SEQUEL 9.0 Enhanced Scripting, users can add powerful CL-like programming structures, including loops, internal variables, conditional logic, error monitoring, and more--to their SEQUEL scripts. Scripts can easily automate a series of commands, or create multiple-step job streams to complete complex tasks.
SEQUEL 9.0 includes a plug-in to Excel that allows users to open results directly in a spreadsheet, without first running a view or creating a file. A SEQUEL tool bar in Excel lets users easily pull data into a spreadsheet from an existing SEQUEL view or table.
A new, easy-to-use interface to Robot/SCHEDULE, the automatic computer operator, job scheduling, and batch management system, allows users to access Robot/SCHEDULE job settings and submit SEQUEL output as batch jobs.
SEQUEL can integrate System i data (and other supported remote databases) with Google Maps (subject to and in accordance with Google Maps terms of service) to support interactive map plotting based on address, zip code, or latitude and longitude coordinates stored in System i database files. SEQUEL version 9.0 adds a new Google Wizard to streamline and simplify the creation of the objects required to integrate data into a Google Map.
